4 Tips to Find Blog Post Ideas
4 Tips to Find Blog Post Ideas

1. Use forums questions and problems to answer

I really love this way of getting inspiration because this helps your readers to get answers to their questions. This is the main sense of marketing, create content that answers and help your customers to be better.
It doesn’t take a lot of time, look how I proceed :
  1. I write in a small file a list of the most popular forums in my niche
  2. I select a category on each forum that interests me
  3. I read the first page of this category (logically threads are organized by descending so you have new discussions on the first page)
  4. I write in another file all questions that I found in this one
  5. I look if there is duplicate questions, if yes I keep the most asked and publish the best way my answer in the blog
  6. If you have more than one question you can keep it for another day
As you can see, it takes not a lot of time and does the job for multiple days. You answer a question that is asked several times, probably that there are other people that need your answer. You have now a blog post idea that interest people and will give you more traffic to your blog.

2. Use book Table of Contents

In some niches of the blog, I often use this tips.
There is a lot of books, in many niches. I use the Table of contents to be inspired.
Amazon is the largest online store. They sell many books (I’ve not found a book on it!). You can find on some book that they sell the Table of contents.
Look how it works with this example :
  1. I go on Amazon website.
  2. Today I want to write a post about e-commerce, so I type “e-commerce” in the Amazon Search Bar and select the category “Books” (like in the below picture)
    amazon search bar
  3. As you can see Amazon proposes me some other keywords, if one of them interests you just click on it
  4. Now we have a list of books that correspond to “e-commerce” niche
  5. I just select one of these books (in my example: “Design and Launch an eCommerce Business in a Week (Entrepreneur Magazine’s Click Starts)“)
  6. I see the label “Click to LOOK INSIDE“. So I click on the image
  7. A popup appears. On the left you can select “Table of Contents“, click on it and you can see the table of contents of the book
  8. I note a page which is entitled “You Online Business’s URL, 41″
  9. That gives me a blog post idea: “The Best Way to Choose your Business URL”!
Not too difficult no? In 2 minutes we have our idea ;)
Note that table of contents is not always suggested by Amazon. You can find it easily on the website of the publisher.

3. Use your experience

My favorite! Share your experience with your readers. They will know you better and there is nothing better than a story to keep your readers interested.
Keep in mind how you have succeeded or how you have learned your passion and share these elements with your readers.
You don’t have to prepare your content, all pieces of information are in your mind. That can be a pleasure to remember some moments of your life that help you to grow up.
I personally use a lot experience in my writing, I do website since 10 years and it’s always a pleasure to remember what I did in the past and how I have learned to grow up my skills.

4. Brainstorming

Brainstorming can be a good way to be inspired for your next blog post.
The only thing you have to do is to select a subject and start to write without no limit many words that you have in your mind (concerned by your keyword).

The more word you write the more idea you will get.
Group these words and find questions, tips, and pieces of information about what to share.

If we look at the picture above: this girl looks nice, there are sun and sea. We can imagine the sound of waves, we feel free.
When you see this picture for the first time, your brain associated them to all these keywords. Instantly you have this words in mind, you imagine all these feelings.
You know now what happens when your visitors see this thumbnail, his mind is associated with pleasure. This picture will call your visitor, create an interest.

Create interest with a picture

We see above that image create emotion. Emotion is a good way to create interest, it’s what we want. We want to get the attention of our visitors, we want that they want to read our post.
It’s human, emotion improves interest.
  • We love great situation, we love when we are free, successful, all that is attached to “good”. When you see an image that gives you in mind this information, that makes you feel happy, you want to know why this person on this picture is so happy and you will click to see the post. You want to be so happy that they are in the picture!
  • The opposite work also. If you see somebody that feel bad and not happy, you want to know why he is bad and doesn't make the same mistake. You are in a situation of protection, you need to know why to not be in the same situation.
You see how this aspect can be impressive! You can do the same with your blogger ;)

Use a thumbnail is important. But select the good picture for it is better.
For that, you need to know the message that you want to pass to your visitors.
You need to select the feeling that your visitors need to have to see your post. For example, if you write an article about making money with the Internet, your visitors will read your post if they have the feeling about rich, money, success. You need to select a picture that corresponds to this idea.
For our example, we can use a picture that shows money, they see what they what, they visualize the result that they want. You have to show them the results that they will want have when reading your post.
Another example, imagine you manage a blog about dating. You write an article about how to keep girl easier.
What want your reader?
  • No more be single
  • Meets girls
  • Be able to pass great moment with them
We now know what the reader really want when he reads your post. We are going to choose a picture that shows a man speaking with one girl that gives the impression to love her, a man with is a girlfriend. The visitor visualizes this scene and will create an interest for your post. He will read your article and, if he likes it, will subscribe to your blog.

How To Add Load More Posts Button in Blogger
Most of the bloggers add load more posts' button in their blog (website). Some bloggers like to add 'infinite scrolling' which is an advanced form of load more button. Both things perform the same action but the only difference is that you have to press 'load more' button manually, while on the other hand, 'infinite scrolling' do it for you with an automatic system. Basically, this is done with a jQuery script.

Its working phenomenon is quite simple. Let me explain here one by one. If you apply a 'load more posts' button to your blog, the readers have to click on this button, again and again, to load older posts until the last post. If we talk about 'infinite scrolling', it loads your older posts when a reader scroll down the page and there is no need to press any button manually for this purpose.

1. Sign in to your blogger account and choose the desired blog.
2. Click on "Template" and go to "Edit HTML"
3. Click anywhere in the coding area and press 'Ctrl + F' on the keyboard (Mac users will press 'Command + F').
4. A search bar will appear in coding section. In this bar, type "</head>".
5. Now copy the given code and paste it just above the </head> tag.

You can see a read line in the code. This red line is to use jQuery libraries. So, if you have already added jQuery in your template then please remove this red line because the doubling of this script may cause issues with your website. Here is a step by step guide to check either you already have this or not.
  1. Go to your "Template" >> "Edit HTML" and search for jquery.min.js or jquery.js
  2. If you already have, it should look like "<script src='https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/2.2.0/jquery.min.js'/>"
  3. Here the version number is 2.2.0. It may be different in the previous script but you can replace this number with other number.

Bottom Line

Okay, you have done a good job. Now you and your visitors can see load more button/infinite scrolling on your website. Post your comments below to give valued feedback or ask a question in case of any confusion.

Font Awesome Icons are best alternatives to the picture for the menus and social icons of your blog or website. Previously, blogger used jpg or png pictures to show the symbol of social share icons such ass Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus and so on. Using pictures make the loading speed slow and dull. Due to this drawback, font awesome icons are developed as a good alternate to images.

Why & How Should We Get Font Awesome Icons

As I already said that font awesome icons are the best alternative to images used with menus and for social icons. These icons are vector image that is very tiny and free of any burden. Therefore, these will not reduce the blog loading speed. Moreover, these icons enhance the charm and attraction of navigation bar and social share icons. Despite these amazing features, all font awesome icons are absolutely free and you do not need to pay to enjoy these vector images. Today, almost every developer tries to add font awesome icons on his website due to their unique features.

  • Go to the official website of font awesome icons to get a complete list of all categories.
  • Click on any icon to get its code.
  • For example, if you click on "bicycle" icon, it will give you this code:
You can skip
aria-hidden="true"
, using only
<i class="fa fa-bicycle"></i>

Enabling CSS Font Awesome Icons In Your Blog

  • First of all, make sure that your blog must have CSS Style Sheet to support all the font awesome icons. For this purpose, go to "Template" >> "Edit HTML".
  • Click anywhere in code and press "Ctrl + F" (Mac users should press "Command + F")
  • A search bar will appear. Write font-awesome.min in this bar and hit enter.
  • You will find the following link if style sheet is already to your blog.
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/font-awesome/4.4.0/css/font-awesome.min.css" />
If it is not added then you can copy and paste the above mentioned code
under<head>
tag in your template.

Adding Font Awesome Icons In Navigation

Most of the templates support double navigation bars which are top navigation and main navigation. Both these menus can be decorated with font awesome icons. As we go in detail, we know that some of the templates support menu in its source code (In Edit HTML Section), and some templates support menu designing through link list (In Layout Section). Here, we will discuss both the methods in detail.

Navigation Through Link List (Layout Section)

It will be a little bit tricky if your template support top and main navigation through link list in layout section.
  • Go to the "Layout" and click navigation related gadget.
  • A pop window will open where you can configure your complete menu.
  • Suppose you are adding font awesome icon for home page of your blog. Write <i class="fa fa-home"></i> Home in "New Site Name". Paste your blog homepage link in "New Site URL" and then click "Add Link".
  • Save this setting, reload your blog and look for the desired results. You navigation must show a home icon in menu.

Similarly you can add rest menu items one by one using this method for whole navigation.

Navigation Through Source Code (Template Section)

This method is quite simple and easy to understand.

  • Go to "Template" >> "Edit HTML" and press "Ctrl + F" to bring a search bar in coding area.
  • In this bar, type any unique word that is included in menu to reach the navigation part.
  • In my case, I will type "Skin Tips" to go directly to the navigation.
  • You will find clean coding here which will look like this:
<li><a href='http://www.getperfectbeauty.com/search/label/Skin'>Skin Tips</a></li>
  • You just need to add <i class='fa fa-leaf'/> in the above line before "Skin Tips" to make it look like this:
<li><a href='http://www.getperfectbeauty.com/search/label/Skin'><i class='fa fa-leaf'/>Skin Tips</a></li>
  • Click "Save Template", reload the page and see your desired results. There will be an icon with 'Skin Tips' in navigation bar.

Bottom Line

After making these changes, you and the visitors of your website will see a font awesome icon in the navigation with each menu item which you have decorated with font awesome icons. Post your comment below to give valued feedback or ask a question in case of any confusion.
